What is group critical illness insurance? It's a way for you to stay ahead of the medical and out-of-pocket expenses that can accompany a specific critical illness. After a waiting period, a lump sum benefit is payable upon initial diagnosis of each covered illness, including:
A 25% benefit is payable for carcinoma-in-situ and coronary artery bypass surgery. Payment of the partial benefit will reduce the Internal Cancer or Heart Attack benefits by 25%.
Additional occurrences must be separated by at least 90 days.
Additional occurrences must be separated by at least 6 months. Re-occurrences must be separated by at least 12 months, or for cancer, 12 months treatment free..

This insurance coverage is there for you in the event of a covered critical illness and will pay you a lump sum benefit if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness such as heart attack, stroke, end-stage renal failure, cancer or if a physician determines you need a major human organ transplant. It also has a Health Screening Benefit for preventive care, which covers tests such as mammograms, colonoscopies, chest X-rays, and pap smear tests.
Guaranteed issue amounts are available: $20,000 for employees and $10,000 for spouses. Employee benefit amounts are available from $5,000 to $50,000. Spouse coverage is also available in benefit amounts up to $25,000, not to exceed one half of the employee’s amount.
